Beauty Products I Can't Live Without - Mary Anna Jefcoat
I’m currently working on a longer beauty products post, BUT I wanted to go ahead and share what I call my “If I only had two items in my bag what would they be.” I’ll start with my lashes (insert heart eyes). I used to only wear them for special occasions but about a year ago I started wearing them everyday! Yes at first I was slow, but now I can put them on so much faster than the time it was taking me to apply mascara. I LOVE long, full lashes and I just wasn’t getting the length or fullness I wanted from applying mascara for 10 minutes every day. My recommendation for putting them on is to do it when you’re not in a hurry. Practice on the weekends when you’re not in a hurry to get ready and you won’t get frazzled if you mess up! You may be thinking, hmm doesn’t that get expensive? Nope. I buy them in bulk from here and it’s so much cheaper than buying them in store. I also wear mine more than once usually. During the week I rarely wear eyeshadow so I can get about a week’s use out of one pair. When I wear eyeshadow it kinds falls off throughout the day/night and you want the back side of the lashes to be black and clean to give you a “real lashes” look. If that makes sense? Another trick I have, especially if you have light lashes, is to apply a tiny amount of mascara to your real lashes before applying the fake ones. Basically just put enough on to color the lashes so they will be the same color as the fake lashes. The cute little make up bags are here! Another cute one that is pink. So even if I don’t put on foundation or do my hair, with my lashes and tan on I can still quickly not look like death… which brings me to my second product, self tanner! And yes I apply it to my face, I’m sure there are better “tan” or “glow” products I could apply to my face but I haven’t really done the research on it so this is just what I do. Self tanner time. I cringe when I think about it now, but I used to be in the tanning bed all the time. I guess it finally clicked with me how unhealthy it was and I began the quest for the best self tanners. I originally began with Fake Bake but have recently switched to St. Tropez. I used Fake Bake for two years so obviously I liked it, but I’m glad I tried St. Tropez because I do like it better! I guess I should first say that I am naturally pretty fair complected. I can tan, but I’m not naturally dark and since I no longer get in the tanning bed or have time to lay out, I wanted something dark. I originally ordered the
